WATCH OVER YOUR HEART

November 8, 2021

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23

1. FROM BITTERNESS TO FORGIVENESS. Protect and guard your heart from the poison of resentment and fear. They are vision suppressors and growth inhibitors. Keep forgiving. Your heart needs to stay fresh and clear because there is plenty more God has planned for you to accomplish.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you. Colossians 3:15-16a

2. FROM DISCONTENT TO PEACE. People are chronically plagued by “contentment deficit disorder,” which chokes the fruitfulness of God’s Word. Instead of being allured by the desire for other things, ask yourself what really matters most. As you keep sowing the Word into your spirit and letting it dwell richly in you, it will help you walk in God’s peace and contentment.

The worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold. Mark 4:18-20

3. FROM WORRY TO FAITH. Worry is the enemy of your success. But God’s Word carries the authority and power to change things. So speak God’s Word. Look at your bills and say, “My God shall supply all my needs.” Stay informed with current events, but don’t let it spin into worry. Instead, speak the Word over the social ills you see, and believe God for His peace to come into our city, our country, and the nations of the world.
