THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE
June 6, 2025| I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:61. JESUS IS THE WAY. Before His crucifixion, Jesus reassured His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for them, and that they would know the way He was going (John 14:1-4). Thomas replied with the question of the ages. What is the reason for our existence? Thomas asked, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” (John 14:5). Jesus responded with, “I am the way.” Thomas grappled to understand, but later, after the resurrection, he fell at Jesus’ feet and proclaimed, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28). Jesus then said, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.” (John 20:29). 2. JESUS IS THE TRUTH. Truth is the opposite of error. It is accurate, reliable, stabilizing, and authentic. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32). He spoke those words to the Jews who believed in Him, and He is still telling us today. I want to encourage you to walk in the truth. John, who wrote this gospel, also said, “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.” God desires truth in the inner man (Psalm 51:6). And when Jesus – the Truth – gets inside of us, He works things out on a deep level. 3. JESUS IS THE LIFE. “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2b). That’s a powerful promise. Jesus – the carpenter of Galilee, the Creator of all things, the One who upholds all things by the Word of His power (Hebrews 1:3) – is preparing something ahead for us. He will return and receive us to Himself (John 14:3). This speaks of closeness and eternal connection, undoing the separation that began in Eden. This earthly life is like a breath on a cold winter’s day – here and gone. But eternity with Him is permanent. Through Jesus, we who were far off have been brought near (Ephesians 2:13) and are accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6). DEFINITION: truth, noun Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. PRAY THIS OUT LOUD: Jesus, I believe You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I choose to walk by faith and trust in Your promises. Thank You for preparing a place for me. Let the truth of Your Word and who You are get anchored in my heart. Help me to walk in truth and stay connected to You. Amen. Copyright © 2025 St. Louis Family Church, All rights reserved.
