The Life of Joseph
June 17, 2013And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
The Dream. Joseph had a vision for his life. But sometimes, in between the dream and the fulfillment, ridiculous stuff can happen. Joseph’s brothers threw him into a pit and then sold him to some Ishmaelites. Then, in Egypt, he was unjustly thrown into prison. From age 17 to 30 his dream was challenged, but then God opened the door.
The Battle. Joseph was faithful even when at his lowest. If you are weary and fatigued from protracted battles, receive God’s refreshing today. Stay faithful, overcome resentment, and trust God. He redeemed Joseph’s life and He will turn your situation around too.
As for you, you meant evil against me [Joseph], but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. Genesis 50:20
The Result. One day Joseph was in prison and the next he was the second in command in Egypt. Don’t quit. God turned things around for Joseph’s life, but God also used him to save an entire nation from starvation. Take hold of this biblical concept—that God causes all things to work together for good—and apply it at your job, with your family, to your dreams. God is so good and He cares for you and loves you. You can trust Him to come through for you every time!
God loves you,
Pastor Jeff
