The Gift of Eternal Life

July 13, 2018

And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. John 10:28

1. IT IS BROUGHT BY AN ETERNAL PERSON. Eternal life is the greatest blessing you or I will ever come across – immortality is what people have craved through the ages. God has set eternity in our hearts and only He, the Eternal One, the beginning and the end, can give eternal life. And we must receive this gift by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).

2. IT IS BASED ON ETERNAL PASSION. The eternal God is eternally in love with you. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God loves us so much that even when we were lost in sin, He sent Jesus for us.

3. IT IS BESTOWED BY ETERNAL PROMISES. The Bible is written by men and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s Word and His promises remain forever (Matthew 24:35). Study the promises of God about eternal life. Let them inspire you to look at everything in your life in the light of eternity.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10

4. IT IS BACKED BY ETERNAL POWER. Eternal life is not just quantitative – an endless length of time – it’s also qualitative. God wants you to have an abundant life! God wants to bring answers to questions, vibrancy instead of dullness, fruitfulness instead of barrenness, and healing to hurts. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and the same Power that created the stars, that conquered sin on the Cross, that offers eternal life, is available to you.

God bless you!

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what are mere mortals that You take thought of them and care for them? Yet You crown me with glory and majesty! (Psalm 8:3-5). Thank You, God, for eternal life and that my path is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day (Proverbs 4:18). I love You, Jesus!

e·ter·nal, adj.
Having infinite duration: everlasting. Characterized by abiding fellowship with God. Continued without intermission: perpetual.
