Power for Life

October 15, 2016

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

God has given us spiritual power tools that take us from a hand saw to a power saw; from a shovel to a front-end loader; from a mediocre situation to supernatural strength. If you feel stuck in a pit or depressed, it’s time to utilize some of these powerful tools from your toolbox.

1. THE NAME OF JESUS. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name.(Philippians 2:9). When we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, it changes everything. When we use the authority of the name of Jesus, situations change, mountains move, demons flee, and bodies are healed.

2. THE BLOOD OF JESUS. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7). Because Jesus shed His blood on the Cross, we are forgiven and healed, and we overcome. The blood of Jesus can cover and protect you and your family as it did in ancient Egypt when death passed over the homes with the blood of a lamb on the doorposts (Exodus 12).

3. THE WORD OF GOD. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). God’s Word is the basis for every step in all aspects of our existence. It’s eternal. It’s truth. It plows through circumstances. When you have alarming symptoms, you can stand on the Word of God. His promises never fail and they are our foundation.
