Let God Use You!

June 17, 2016

For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong. 1 Corinthians 1:26-27

1. COMMIT YOURSELF TO GOD. God uses ordinary, flawed people to do extraordinary things. God called Gideon a valiant warrior while he and his people were still hiding in caves. Moses said he couldn’t speak, but God used him as His spokesperson. God even spoke through a donkey and a burning bush! It’s not by our might or power, but by the Holy Spirit.

2. RECEIVE GOD’S WISDOM. Jesus is the wisdom available to us when we don’t know what to do. Life is filled with so many variables, so many options, so many decisions. But God invites us to ask Him for the wisdom we need. You can trust the counsel of the Lord. That’s why it’s so important to read the Bible and keep its words in your heart.

For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. 2 Chronicles 16:9

3. BE AVAILABLE. We are at our best when we realize we are just human—earthen vessels that God fills with His amazing power (2 Corinthians 4:7). God has chosen childlike faith, yielded hearts, and simple obedience to do great things. God is not looking for popularity or sophistication, but availability, willingness, and obedient hearts!

God bless you!

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
God, my heart is completely Yours. Here I am, send me, use me. I thank You that even when I feel weak, the surpassing greatness of power is from You. I thank You that Jesus is wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. My boast is in You, God (1 Corinthians 1:28-31). Use me to fulfill Your plans on this earth!
