Five Ways to Get Strong!

February 17, 2017

1. PRAISE YOUR WAY TO STRENGTH. God is so good! He is worthy of praise! It pleases Him and, interestingly, He designed it to benefit us! He’s looking for worshippers who will worship in spirit and in truth. Worship and praise are weapons against fear, despondency, and stagnation. It will drive away introspection and fortify your faith.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. Acts 16:25-26

2. WAIT YOUR WAY TO STRENGTH. This is not procrastination but a prayerful expectancy. We inquire of and talk to God and then we wait and listen.

Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31

3. MEDITATE YOUR WAY TO STRENGTH. As you meditate on the Word of God, it will strengthen you to be ready to advance—to command mountains in your way to move, to fight new fights, and to take new land.

How blessed is the man . . . [whose] delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2

4. REST & EAT YOUR WAY TO STRENGTH. There are times when we get worn out and discouraged like the prophet Elijah did in the Old Testament. God sent an angel with very practical instructions to strengthen Elijah: eat, drink water, and sleep (1 Kings 19:5-6).

5. LAUGH YOUR WAY TO STRENGTH. When the people of Israel became painfully aware of their failure and began to grieve for how far they had fallen, God accepted it and forgave them and said, “Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10b).

God bless you!
