Confidence in God

March 4, 2013

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Hebrews 10:35

The storms of life try to unsettle our confidence, but when Jesus comes on the scene He changes the way we think and He changes our habits and our values. He offers us His power and authority. He causes the timid to be bold. He causes those with anxiety to have peace. To those who don’t feel like champions He says that we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Where do you get confidence in God and His ability to see you through? Go to the Word and learn what God says about you. Study the promises of God and use them to fight the good fight of faith. God’s Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). It’s sure and it’s true. It’s a plumb line.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

God wants to equip you so you can be a deliverer for others. If you’ve made mistakes in your life, God can turn those around to become stepping stones to breakthrough. Get on the offense and press on with the expectation that what God has forged in you since before you were born shall surely come to pass.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

God is so good,
Pastor Jeff
