Power to Overcome
February 25, 2013These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Because of Jesus, you can renew your determination to overcome in life—not in your own strength but by the power of God. When Jesus blasted out of the grave He offered powerless humanity the power of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 1:8). He gave us the authority and power to become the children of God (John 1:12), to cast out demons (Mark 6:7) and heal the sick (Mark 3:15).
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1 John 5:4
The name of Jesus is above every name. Use it fearlessly against the forces of darkness. When things get weird, pray. That same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Romans 8:11). Take hold of the promises of God and use His Word like a hammer to break the bondages and barriers in your heart. As you trust God, He will walk you through what looked like absolute defeat into a place of victory (Romans 8:37).
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37
God is faithful,
Pastor Jeff
