Walk in Love

February 17, 2014

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. . . Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:9,11-12

The Atmosphere of Love. The atmosphere around us can be enhanced by the presence of love or hindered by the presence of strife. As you and I walk in love it will set the thermostat wherever we go.

Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart. 1 Peter 1:22

Sincere Love. Every Christian is called to be an oasis of love in a troubled world. This love isn’t sappy or fake or overly sentimental, but genuine. It’s the love that’s covered all our sins and it changes hearts and lives.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 1 John 4:18

Worry-Free Love. Worry is not a form of love. We are called to bring people up into our celebration, not let them pull us down into their defeat. Don’t let someone else’s need hijack your progress. If you’re dealing with fear, insecurity, or worry, take time to meditate on God’s love.

Daily Confession
I don’t fear anything because God’s perfect love casts out fear. I love because He first loved me (1 John 4:18-19). God does not give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I am rooted and grounded in love and strengthened with God’s power in the inner man to understand the breadth and length and height and depth of His love. I know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, and I am filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:17-19).
