Three Benefits of Knowing Jesus

December 21, 2018

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:1-2

1. HE IS YOUR RESCUER. In the cool of the evening Adam and Eve would connect with God unhindered, but then sin broke in. There had to be substitution and sacrifice and that’s where the promise of Jesus came in. Humanity could’ve been permanently locked in some bizarre fallen state, but God sent a Rescuer to save us.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

2. HE IS YOUR SALVATION. Philosophers have tried to reduce the human experience to mere myths. But the truth is that Jesus really did come to earth. And while we were still sinners, He died for us. He is not simply a prophet or a wise leader who lived on earth. He is God. The scripture says that though your sins are as scarlet, He will make them white as snow (Isaiah 1:18).

3. HE IS YOUR WISDOM. God’s faithfulness is to all generations, including yours (Psalm 100:5). Whatever your mistakes were yesterday, God’s mercies are new today. So push the reset button and start fresh with Jesus. You can access His Word, pray and gain spiritual ground and God will give you all the guidance you need.

Merry Christmas!

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
God, in my heart, I believe that Jesus truly is Your Son and that He died for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent for every time I have sinned. I accept Jesus into my life right now, to lead and guide me as my Lord. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me, and thank You that You have a great plan for my life!
