There’s More to the Story
March 1, 2015After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:26-28
From doubting to believing. Don’t let a moment of doubt hold you back from the life of faith God has for you. Many people incorrectly label Thomas as “Doubting Thomas” because he refused to believe in Jesus’ resurrection without physical proof. But Jesus graciously showed up, addressed, and eradicated Thomas’s unbelief. It was a turning point when he saw Jesus and cried out in repentance and awe, proclaiming: “My Lord and My God.”
Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30-31
From denying to proclaiming. Wherever you are in your walk with God, Jesus wants to graciously help you move forward. Peter denied Jesus three times but was forgiven, and he went on to boldly proclaim Jesus. As a result, 3,000 people were saved in one day! So don’t quit. God has more for you up ahead.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
From breakdown to breakthrough. Don’t let yourself get stuck where you are – there’s more to your story. When your thinking gets adjusted by Jesus and by His Word, your heart will be strengthened and encouraged so that you can press forward with your head held high. Jesus is able to help you keep the faith and finish your course with joy!
Pray this Prayer:
God, You are so wonderful. I thank You for the stirring of the Holy Spirit in my heart. Help me to be ready this year for many opportunities to bring glory and honor to Jesus and help alleviate people’s suffering. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God bless you,
Pastor Jeff
