The Word Is Your Counselor

August 21, 2015

Your testimonies also are my delight; they are my counselors. Psalm 119:24

READ THE WORD. We need the guidance, direction, and counsel found in the Scriptures. The abundance of wisdom found in God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation is going to advance our lives, keep us from failing, and guide us to a place of victory and deliverance.

Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory. Proverbs 11:14

GET FAITH FROM THE WORD. Jesus gives amazing counsel to the disciples in four powerful words: “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). Faith is not something we produce in our own power – it’s a result of feeding on the Word of God. Become “mighty in the Scriptures” like Apollos from the Early Church (Acts 18:24). Let the strength offered in the verses of the Bible inspire you to go forward in the purposes and plans God has for you.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Joshua 1:8

KEEP ON SPEAKING GOD’S WORD. Let the light of the Word get hold of you in the hospital room, in your car, in your cubicle at work, when you’re gripped with the oppression of the devil, when you don’t see or feel any encouragement or joy. Speak to the mountains, to the insecurities, to the ravages of time; speak to the oppression of man, to the worries of life, and command them to be taken up and cast into the sea (Mark 11:23).

DAILY CONFESSION:
Because of Jesus:
I am mighty in the Scriptures (Acts 18:24).
I fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12).
I am strong and very courageous, for the Lord is with me wherever I go (Joshua 1:9).

coun·sel, noun
