Taking Your Life to the Next Level

August 23, 2019

The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places. Habakkuk 3:19

1. KNOW THAT GOD WILL EQUIP YOU. I so appreciate the animal kingdom – God designed certain animals’ hooves to have the dexterity to scale sharp and craggy mountainsides and almost vertical landscapes. Habakkuk, an Old Testament prophet, concluded that just like some animals have feet made for climbing, God makes our feet ready for our jobs. It reminds me of the equipping God gives the church – whatever God has called us to, He has also equipped us with all we need to do His will.

Now may the God of peace . . . equip you with all you need for doing his will. Hebrews 13:20-21a NLT

2. STEP OUT IN FAITH. Taking your life to the next level requires a willingness to break out and get unstuck from where you are now. When God calls us, He doesn’t always give us all the details. Abraham obeyed God, “not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8). When you know how trustworthy God is and how He always equips you for what He’s calling you to do, you will discover how exciting it can be to walk by faith and let Him lead you!

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

3. LET GO OF UNFORGIVENESS. I’ve noticed something about unforgiveness and bitterness: They keep us stuck. Part of the breakthrough to the next level involves letting go of encumbrances or sins. That’s why we must be quick to repent, quick to forgive and quick to ask for forgiveness. On the other side of this preparation, of this step of faith, of this forgiveness is amazing breakthrough.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2a

Press on!
Pastor Jeff Perry

I’m taking my life to the next level. I’m having a breaking out. A letting go. A stepping up. I’m allowing things to unfold at God’s pace, in His ways, by His timing. I’m trusting God for breakthrough: breakthrough in my life, my family, in our church, in our community, in the United States of America, and in the nations. In Jesus’ name, amen.
