HOW GOD IS OUR REFUGE

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3

GOD IS . . .

STRONG AND SOUND. When circumstances get weird, you can run to God and find safety. He has not given you a spirit of fear, but He has given you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).

A VERY PRESENT HELP. You are not alone. The presence of God isn’t a vague theory—He is with you, ready and available to help with every challenge.

FORGIVING. God loves you and His grace abounds toward you. Sin, fear, shame, and rejection are all dealt with by Jesus and what He did on the Cross. What a relief! If you feel trapped in sin, repent and He will deliver you (1 Corinthians 10:13).

ETERNALLY UNCHANGING. God is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The same God found in Psalm 91 is your safe refuge today. Open the Scriptures and get strengthened. Make it personal and speak out who Jesus is in your life: your refuge, your fortress, your shield.

DAILY CONFESSION (PSALM 91:1-4)
I dwell in the shelter of the Most High. I abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. He delivers me from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover me with His feathers and under His wings I seek refuge. His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.
