PATTERNS FOR VICTORY
January 16, 2026Yes, from the time of the first existence of day and from this day forth I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand. I will work, and who can hinder or reverse it? Isaiah 43:13 AMPC
God’s promises are true and faithful, and we can trust Him. He is at work in your life. Whatever you are believing God for in this new year, whatever you are facing, God has victory for you!
1. RIGHTEOUSNESS. The big deal is to get right with God (2 Corinthians 5:21). No one is righteous without the Lord, so God made a way for us to be made right by placing our faith in Jesus (Romans 3:10, 22). When we are not right with God, there is dread, worry, and nervousness. But when we get right with God, peace comes (Isaiah 32:17). As we grow in maturity, we become accustomed to the work of righteousness and consistently follow through by doing the right thing.
2. REPENTANCE. It is God’s kindness that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4). If and when we don’t do the right thing, we are to be quick to repent. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). There is an initial repentance when we are saved, but as believers, we are to stay repentant and willing to change.
“When the voice of the Lord pierces through the gloom and despair with these reassuring words, ‘I will work,’ all the harassing demons of doubt, fear, and uncertainty are immediately silenced” ~Dick Mills.
3. READINESS. We are to live prepared, to “be ready in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2). I visited the firehouse across the street from our church. The trucks are clean, the gas tanks are full, and the equipment is the very best. They are ready to administer CPR, put out a fire, and clear a building – not nervous, but prepared. In our walk with God, this alert attitude positions us for victory.
4. RESULTS. “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit” (John 15:8a). God’s target for us is productivity and purpose. Jesus came to be the light of the world and to destroy the works of the devil (John 8:12; 1 John 3:8). Then He said to the disciples and all of us, “Now you’re the light of the world.” In your personal calling, look to God – not what’s happening in the world. Like Daniel and Joseph, you are equipped to thrive and be creative even in harsh situations. God is at work!

PRAY THIS OUT LOUD: Lord Jesus, You know everything about me. Here I am. I submit to You and humble myself before You. I am willing to make changes and follow Your will in every area of my life. I’m ready in season and out of season, and I desire to bear fruit that honors You. Be glorified in and through my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
