Let There Be Light!

December 27, 2019

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:2 NKJV

1. LET JESUS BE YOUR LIGHT. The Bible is not just a snapshot of antiquity – it’s where we see the pattern that God set into effect at Creation when He first said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). Then when Adam and Eve forfeited God’s plan through disobedience, God sent Jesus to be our light and He came to seek and save that which is lost.

For God, who said, “Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,” is the one who has cascaded his light into us—the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 TPT

2. LET GOD FAN YOUR FLAMES. God can be trusted deeply. Sometimes when we go through stuff we start managing our expectations and we shift into survival mode. If you feel like you only have dying embers left, go to God and let His fresh life fan the flames so that you will experience God’s love all over again.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

3. LET GOD’S WORD ILLUMINATE YOUR FUTURE. Jesus gives light to the lost, vision to the blind, and direction to those who don’t know what to do. If you don’t feel like reading your Bible, go to Psalm 119 which is all about the benefit of having God’s Word in your life. Or start reading a Proverb a day – there are 31 Proverbs – one for each day of the month. Ask God to open the eyes of your understanding so you can receive what God is saying to you through the Scriptures.

God has a good plan for your life!

DAILY CONFESSION:
I pray that God gives me a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened, so that I will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward those who believe (Ephesians 1:17-19a).

Light, noun
Something that makes vision possible. Truth.
