BY GOD’S GRACE

December 13, 2019

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

1. WE ARE SAVED. God is able to make all grace abound to you in every area of your life (2 Corinthians 9:8). As a Bible student, I was told that grace is God’s willingness to use His power to work on our behalf even though we don’t deserve it. The older I get the more I rely on God’s grace for every aspect of my life. Not only are we saved from sin by grace, but then we are sustained through life by that same grace.

2. WE ARE SUSTAINED. God created us to accomplish awesome things all through life. (Ephesians 2:10). And what He begins in us, He sustains and completes. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

3. WE ARE STRENGTHENED. In the Bible, Paul told Timothy – a young minister who dealt with anxiety – to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). I’ve been in countless situations where my own strength and wisdom fell short and I had to rely on God’s grace. He’s our real help. Whatever you’re going through, He surrounds you. With every temptation He provides a way of escape. When you feel stuck in stale unbelief, go to God. He will restore your joy, renew your faith, and give you all the grace you need for today and for all the days to come.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

God bless you!
