Jesus – Your Help

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

HE IS YOUR ANSWER. Mountains represent whatever is looming in your life—they are images of problems or difficulties. So whatever you are dealing with, look at it and ask yourself, “Where does my help come from?” It comes from the Lord! He is your answer. He is your help. He will never leave you or forsake you.

EDIFY YOURSELF IN THE WORD. Look at the truth found in God’s Word. Fix your eyes on Jesus right now. Take some time to read the Scriptures. They will make a clear distinction between your soul and spirit. Get out your best paper Bible, dedicate a pen, get a ruler, underline and highlight. Let God’s Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

LISTEN ALERTLY FOR GOD’S VOICE. Alertness doesn’t mean we become nervous or anxious. Rather, we are focused and paying attention. When we let things settle around us and get quiet, God is going to speak. One day in His presence can do so much to counsel, to edify, to expose areas where you need to change, repent, clarify what’s available to you, and recognize who you are in Christ.

PREPARE FOR ACTION. Time is short and people need what we have. We have a responsibility to communicate the Gospel as succinctly, as excellently, and as long as we can. If you’ve let this mission get buried because you are tired, numb and struggling from the pressures of daily life, lift up your eyes to Jesus. He wants to help you both with the big picture and with the micro-level details of your life.

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
I thank You, God, that You instruct me in the way I should go. I ask You to counsel me with Your eye upon me (Psalm 32:8). Help me to focus and receive wisdom and clarity from You. I confess that I know what to do in every situation. I am getting sharper and more alert in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
