JESUS IS YOUR SHEPHERD

July 22, 2022

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psalm 23:1-3

1. FOLLOW JESUS. The Bible uses the example that we are like sheep and God is our shepherd: we can trust Him and follow Him. If you’ve lost your way, call on Jesus. He will find you.

So He [Jesus] told them this parable, saying, “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.” Luke 15:3-5

2. READ GOD’S WORD TO GET RENEWED. Read the Psalms when you are going through battles, read Proverbs when you need wisdom, go through the Gospels to see Jesus’ character, read the Epistles to learn the amazing provision of redemption.

Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:3

3. TRUST GOD TO TAKE CARE OF YOU. He cares deeply for you, and from start to finish He has a good plan for your life. Even if you’ve messed up, today you can repent and push the reset button to start afresh. Keep reading God’s Word. Plug into a good church. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, will take care of you.

God bless you,
Pastor Jeff

If you’ve never asked Jesus to come into your life, pray this prayer!
God, I need You. I open my heart wide to You. I repent for my sin and I ask for Your forgiveness and mercy to come into my heart. I’ll follow You as my shepherd my entire life. I receive Jesus as my Savior. Thank You for new life! In Jesus’ Name, amen!
