Jesus Is the Light

December 25, 2015

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:4-5, 12

1. RECEIVE THE LIGHT. For God so loved the world that He gave Jesus. Two thousand years ago, Mary and Joseph were looking for a place where they could deliver their Baby. Today, Jesus is looking for people who will open their hearts and welcome Him in. That’s when the miracle of salvation takes place.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the Light of life.” John 8:12

2. WALK IN THE LIGHT. With Jesus, we can walk in the light and see things more clearly than ever before. Read your Bible to find out who God is, what He has done for you through Jesus, and who you are in Christ.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14, 16

3. BE A LIGHT. This Christmas, God wants to rekindle the fire in your heart. If you’ve let worries, cares, or sin choke your love and devotion to God, simply repent. God will take your tiny fire, pour fuel on it, and set your spirit ablaze to radiate His light to others.

Merry Christmas!
