Jesus: A Sure Foundation
March 17, 2014“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Strength. Jesus didn’t come to complicate things – He came to set people free and remove their heavy burdens. He wants to be the strength of your life. If you’ve been fatigued and you have grown weary, He wants you to get rest and power from Him.
Solidity. Peter underscores a profound reality about God: In the face of the constant bombardment that hits each one of us, we can cast ALL our cares on Him. Jesus is the solid rock, and He cannot be shaken.
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7 AMP
Security. What are you dealing with right now? Jesus is more than enough to see you through every issue, every dilemma, every challenge. Cast your burdens on the Lord. Ask for wisdom and God will guide you, and the blessing of God will come in and crowd out oppression and bring you into a place of peace.
Pray this prayer:
God, You are my portion and I hope in You. I thank You, Lord, that Your lovingkindness never stops. Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-24). You, Lord, are a stronghold in the day of trouble and You know those who take refuge in You (Nahum 1:7). When I cry to You, God, You answer me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people—You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the one who lifts my head (Psalm 3). I trust You, Jesus!
