Increased Expectation

July 16, 2012

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

We are created in God’s image for His purposes (Ephesians 2:10), but most people are living below their potential. This verse goes well beyond the simple acknowledgment of God’s existence. God asks that we take the extra step and embrace the Father’s love and believe that He really is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

If anyone serves Me [Jesus], the Father will honor him. John 12:26b

We must live with expectation. We have a responsibility to trust that the blessing of God will come down to our specific situation every time. When you get in the presence of God, your beliefs get reinforced. Prayer burns up anxiety and fear. As you and I love the Lord and meditate on His Word (Psalm 1:2; Joshua 1:8), lethargy and stagnancy will be replaced by a heightened sense of expectation. God’s anointing and power will be present for you. Opportunities will become clearer to you.

If you feel worn down by the pressures of life, remember: God can turn any situation around (Romans 8:28). God told the people of Israel, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25a NKJV). Don’t let the past hold you back with a chip on your shoulder—believe God’s Word and expect great things for the future!

Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.
Psalm 91:14-16

Let these truths from God’s Word get on that rebellious son or daughter. Let this get on your marriage that has grown a little bit stale. Let this get on your finances and on your future and on your expectations of where your life is going to be in the next few months and years. Let the truth of God’s love give you hope for the nations and hope for your generation.

God bless you!
Pastor Jeff
