HOW TO STAND STRONG IN A SHAKING WORLD

April 13, 2022

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25

MAKE JESUS YOUR FOUNDATION. Jesus gives us a clear contrast of two lives built on very different foundations – a life built on the firm rock of Jesus or a life based on shifting sand (Matthew 7:26). The book of Isaiah foretells the Messiah by describing Him as “a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on” (Isaiah 28:16 NLT). We can trust Jesus with every aspect of our lives.

HEAR THE WORD; DO THE WORD. Jesus wants us to gaze intently at the Scriptures (James 1:23-25). As we keep looking at God’s Word, and abide by it, we are transformed and fortified. (2 Corinthians 3:18). And when the waves, the wind, and the rain are slamming against our world, we are able to stand strong and steady because we are founded on the rock, Jesus!

God bless you,
Pastor Jeff Perry

DAILY CONFESSION:
I love reading the Bible. I build my life on the foundation of what God says. God’s Word restores my soul, makes me wise, rejoices my heart, and enlightens my eyes. I desire it more than anything. In keeping God’s Word there is great reward. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, my rock and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:7-14).
