HOW TO GET UNSTUCK
August 29, 2025When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Psalm 8:3-4
1. REMEMBER GOD CARES FOR YOU. King David lived in a time when there wasn’t any light pollution. When the sun would set in the Holy Land, he could see the Milky Way Galaxy. David marveled at the stars and the moon, but then settled in on, “Wow God, You care for me.” Let this sink into your heart: the Creator of the universe cares about you down to the smallest detail.
2. CAST YOUR ANXIETY ON JESUS. (1 Peter 5:6-7). When choking and distracting worries hit us, we can cast them all on Jesus. Through prayer, worship, and reading our Bibles, we can start to think the thoughts of God. And as we cast our burdens on the Lord, He will sustain us (Psalm 55:22).
3. RESIST THE DEVIL. Like a lion, the devil will try to isolate and trap us (1 Peter 5:8-9a). We must be alert to keep him from taking residence in our thought life. On the other side of all the trials, “the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you” (1 Peter 5:10).
DEFINITION: anx·i·e·ty (Greek: merimna), noun
From meiro, “to divide,” and noos, “the mind.” The word denotes distractions, anxieties, burdens and worries. Merimna means to be anxious beforehand about daily life.
SAY THIS OUT LOUD:
I am rescued from the mouth of the lion. The Lord will rescue me from every evil assault, and He will bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen (2 Timothy 4:17-18).
