How Much More?!
June 23, 2014So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19
Ask. If you want to understand God’s nature and how He relates to you, look at Jesus. He is the “exact representation” of the Father (Hebrews 1:2-3). Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17). He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He went around healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). Open up your heart to understand we have a heavenly Father who cares about us personally and emphatically.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:7, 11
Seek. This verse doesn’t advocate that we go to God for self-indulgence or with a sense of entitlement, but it does tell us that if we seek, then we will find. As much as we humans know how to give good gifts to our kids, God wants to bless us so much more!
Knock. I’ve learned that God is good and He is a giver. When we seek, we know we will find the answers we are looking for. Circumstances come and go, feelings come and go, but God’s Word is true and His nature never changes—He is abidingly faithful. Study the pages of Scripture to comprehend the great love God has for you.
Pray This Prayer
Based on Ephesians 3:16-19
God, I pray that You would grant me, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; and that I being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, so I may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Amen!
