Fruit of the Spirit

March 14, 2022

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:16, 22-23

1. WALKING BY THE SPIRIT. When you receive Jesus as your Savior, your spirit comes alive in God. You become a child of God and you have the ability to hear His voice and receive His guidance. These are blessings for choosing the things of God. These attributes – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control – are the tools that give us victory in life.

Be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Ephesians 4:23-24

2. RENEWING YOUR SPIRIT. God has called us to walk in a manner worthy of Him. His Word makes it possible for us to display the fruit instead if the deeds of the flesh. When you are consistently in the Word, then the Scriptures will be the first thing that comes to your mind when challenges try to overwhelm you. Speaking the Word will turn around the most impossible-looking situations.

3. ACTIVATING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT. Every day we are being invited to wake up and get out of bed and walk with the Spirit, not letting primal instincts govern us – but letting the Holy Spirit pull us out of the flesh and into being divinely effective. As we fortify ourselves by getting in the Word, praying in the Spirit, and continually walking in love, we will become more sensitive to the subtle promptings of the Holy Spirit, and the fruit of the Spirit will show up powerfully in our lives.

DAILY CONFESSION
I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that I would walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). I am not conformed to this world, but am transformed by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2). I walk by the Spirit and I will not carry out the desire of the flesh. I daily walk in LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, and SELF-CONTROL.
