Filled With God’s Power

May 28, 2012

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:7

God is not looking for human wit or personal charm. He is looking for available, willing, and yielded vessels. He is looking for people who will connect to Him and be willing to serve Him through their lifetime. Regardless of how you may feel right now, God wants to use you for great things. He wants to get you positioned, poised, and prepared for what He has ahead.

In the Bible, we read about how God used many people who were plagued by personal insecurity. Gideon said, “I’m the least in my father’s house” (Judges 6:15). Moses said, “I stutter—use someone else” (Exodus 4:10). Isaiah said, “I am a man of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5). Peter said, “Depart from me—I’m a sinful man” (Luke 5:8). Yet, God used them powerfully. God is so faithful that even when you’re tired, exhausted, or distracted, He will come in and pour out His Spirit.

You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

You are from God! No matter what you are facing, the source of all power is linked up to your life. I pray you’ll rise up out of oppression and realize the devil has been lying to you—that he is in fact defeated. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, you can draw near (Hebrews 4:16); you are rescued from darkness (Colossians 1:13); and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17)!

You can pray and God will change the course of nations. You can serve and leave a lingering effect long after you are gone. The Greater One who lives in you is more than enough for your kids and your business. He’s more than enough to direct your motivation and help you with the next steps of obedience. So stay ready. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit and cultivate a tender and receptive heart. He will take your earthen vessel and fill it with wisdom, power, and the knowledge of His will!

Press On!

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. Colossians 1:9
