EFFECTIVE PRAYER

February 20, 2025

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. Ephesians 1:18-19a

1. THE HOPE OF GOD’S CALLING. If any group of people on the planet should be optimistic and grateful, it should be the believers in Jesus. It is important for us to become familiar with and ponder the hope of God’s calling. When God calls you to something, He also equips you (Hebrews 13:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 5:24). The calling implies that in whatever He calls us to do, generally and then even specifically, He will provide. He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

2. THE RICHES OF THE GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS. This verse describes how valuable you are. Jesus took our sins so that we can receive His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). He regards you as a precious inheritance – as a treasure, a vital part of His movement. He sees you as integrated into a strategy for this time you’re in, and He loves you. He has a plan for you. He hears and answers your prayer. When you pray biblical prayers, you will get biblical results. I pray this causes you to pray boldly in faith, trusting God, and fellowshipping with Him.

3. THE SURPASSING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER. One of the descriptions of God is that He is omnipotent which means all-powerful and awesome. God is the strength of our lives, and He created all that we see, know, and perceive as creation, both the physical and material aspects, as well as the spiritual realm. He is not “weak toward you but mighty in you” (2 Corinthians 13:3). We can be “strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). So when you pray to know the surpassing greatness of His power, breakthrough occurs, healing comes. Get ahold of this Ephesians prayer, pray it with intent, and watch God move on your behalf.

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
This is the confidence that I have: if I ask anything according to Your will, God, You hear me. And since I know that You hear me in whatever I ask, I know I have the requests I ask from You. So, I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened so that I will know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward me in Jesus’ name, amen (1 John 5:14-15; Ephesians 1:18-19).

God bless You!
