Consider Your Calling

July 29, 2013

For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong. 1 Corinthians 1:26-27

You are called according to God’s purposes. The Greek word that talks about the calling on the apostles is the same word that is used to tell us to consider our calling. Whether you feel like a big shot or not, get hold of the idea that God has a plan for your life.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

God has His hand on your life. Yes, there will be challenges and resistance; yes, you will have to shake off apathy—but what God initiates He will bring to pass (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He surrounds you with favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12). From your youth all the way through your life, He has prepared amazing things for you. Trust God fully and believe for big things.

Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9b

Trust God,
Pastor Jeff
