A Mission to Move Mountains
November 19, 2012Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’” Zechariah 6-7
THE MISSION. We are people with a mission, a kingdom-advancing, life-changing message: Jesus is the King! The Lord. The imagery we see in the Old Testament is the same for us today. It’s not a message of evacuation and escapism but a call to go out and spread the good news message of Jesus to all the world.
BY GOD’S POWER. What God has called us to is supernatural—we can’t do it on our own. It’s going to take the power of the Holy Spirit for us to maintain united hearts; to continue to be good moms and dads; to have substance that impacts a deteriorating culture. These things can’t be done by human methodology or sophisticated systems, but it can be accomplished by the Spirit of God. Holy Spirit power and revelation are available if we just open up the Bible and seek God. Let’s press into our prayer closets, worship God, and devote ourselves to Bible intake. Try turning off the TV for five minutes, putting your phone on silent, and focusing on the Word.
And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.” Mark 11:22-23.
MOVING MOUNTAINS. Carry the awareness that you have a mission from God and it’s critical that you live it out. The mountains we face are seemingly insurmountable things that loom before us: alarming symptoms in the body, disappointing relationships, needs that are far greater than what the current resource can supply, problems that we need to deal with, and things that govern culture. If a mountain is looming before you, face it with your spiritual authority. When others face their mountains intercede, supplicate, and stand for them. When you address the Father in the Name of Jesus on the basis of the Word of God, you are going to get huge results. Every time.
Press on,
Pastor Jeff
