THE HOLY SPIRIT – OUR GUIDE THROUGH LIFE

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

The Holy Spirit has been sent to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). As a child of God, you have the ability to hear His voice and receive His guidance. Before you make a life decision, consider these questions:

1. DOES IT LINE UP WITH GOD’S WORD?
“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” John 17:17

2. DOES IT “BEAR WITNESS” ON MY INSIDE?
“The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Romans 8:16 NKJV

When you receive Jesus as your Savior, your spirit is made alive in God! 

3. IS IT CONSISTENT WITH THE GENERAL SENSE I HAVE FOR MY LIFE?
“I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision.” Acts 26:19b
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

4. AM I BEING PRESSURED TO MAKE A HASTY DECISION?
“And he sins who hastens with his feet.” Proverbs 19:2b NKJV

5. HOW DO SIGNIFICANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE FEEL ABOUT IT?
“In abundance of counselors there is victory.” Proverbs 11:14b

DEFINITION: guide, noun

One that leads or directs another’s way.

PRAY THIS OUT LOUD: Holy Spirit, You are my Guide. Help me to stay in the Word, follow Your leading, and surround myself with wise counselors.
