THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR HELPER
January 5, 2024But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you.
John 14:26
1. HE WILL TEACH AND REMIND YOU. Jesus called the Holy Spirit “another Helper” (John 14:16). The Holy Spirit will teach you all things and remind you of all that God has said. He is there to quicken and sharpen us and to bring things up from the back burner of our minds to where we need them and can access them. The Holy Spirit will disclose what we need to know when we need to know it (John 16:13-14).
2. HE WILL GIVE YOU POWER. When the woman who had been sick for 12 years touched Jesus, a divine connection occurred, and He felt power go out of Him as she was healed (Luke 8:46). We, too, are called to these divine connections in our interactions with people. That is what God wants us to ponder and be prepared for and earnestly desire—His power flowing through us to those who need a touch from God.
But He [Jesus] said to them, “It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:7-8
3. HE WILL EQUIP YOU FOR YOUR CALLING. Jesus wants to do amazing things through you. The devil will try to belittle you to make you feel dumb, unacceptable, ugly, and insecure. But I am reminding you that Jesus says you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14). He has given you the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). He has given you this mission to go into all the world and preach the gospel (Mark 16:15). Because the mission is still the same, the equipping help from the Holy Spirit is the same. The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Romans 8:11). You have supernatural help from the Holy Spirit for every area of life to accomplish all that God has called you to.
I’m excited about the infinite possibilities that await us in the upcoming days. Let’s believe God for an accelerated, fruitful, and profitable 2024.
God bless you,
Pastor Jeff Perry
DAILY CONFESSION:
The Helper, the Holy Spirit, teaches me all things and reminds me of all that God says to me (John 14:26). I receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon me, and I will be God’s witness as far as the remotest part of the earth (Acts 1:8). The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me, giving life to my mortal body (Romans 8:11).
