Keep Your Confidence in God

June 28, 2019

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:35-36

1. GET FREE FROM THE PAST. We are not called to just survive, but to win. If you feel stuck and behind, don’t lose heart. God sent Jesus to strengthen you and free you. Take time to fortify what you believe by reading the Bible. Instead of speaking only what you may feel about yourself, speak out what God says about your life. Example: I am a new creation in Christ! The old things have passed away. New things have come.

Fight the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12a

2. TRUST GOD WITH THE PRESENT. The past is gone, we don’t have the future yet, but we do have today. Today God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Today God is faithful to you. Today you can reset, shake off any unbelief, and start relying on God. Example: This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9

3. LOOK TO THE END RESULT. Humanity is flawed and broken but, because of Jesus, we have reconciliation with God. We can look ahead to eternity because we know that we are just passing through this world. We also know that God promises we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). Look to the harvest of souls and anticipate the fulfillment of God’s promises. His every word is true. Example: Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life! Even if I die, I live.
