Heart Life

August 26, 2016

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38 NKJV

1. A PROTECTED HEART. Tending to the hidden person of the heart is very important in this hour. The devil will try to discourage you; so take control of what you allow to influence you. Shake off bitterness, unforgiveness, and strife and diligently guard your heart.

2. A STRENGTHENED HEART. God’s Words are life to your heart. Take time to strengthen yourself in God’s Word and listen to what He is saying – ponder a chapter and meditate on it until you understand it and it gets planted in your heart.

My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:20-23

3. AN ACTIVATED HEART. God’s Spirit will activate your heart so that you can spring forward into His plans. The prophet Elijah faced limitations like you and me; yet when the Holy Spirit came upon him, he outran a chariot (1 Kings 18:46)! It’s not by your strength or power, but by the help of the Holy Spirit. So remain “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58), and let God’s rivers of living water flow continuously and abundantly from your heart to a thirsty world.

Pastor Jeff
