Free To Fulfill The Call

April 27, 2009

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” John 6:35

Jesus is the bread of life. He is the substance, the supply, the fulfillment, and the answer for all of life. He invaded the human scene to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). We are free because of what happened on Calvary 2,000 years ago when Jesus took the burden of our sin and laid down His life. A love like that can’t be earned; it just needs to be received.

Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” John 6:28-29

There are a lot of great movements and good causes. But no good work on our part can earn what Jesus supplies. All of our good works are like filthy rags — they can’t save us (Isaiah 64:6). What does save and change us is believing in Him.

God has called us to new beginnings. He has great big beautiful plans for our lives and wants to use us to do good works, change the world, and make history. Because of Jesus we can now have right standing with God, the wonderful Holy Spirit, and endless living water. Open your Bible and find out the amazing advantages He has to offer those who believe in Him.

It’s great to follow Jesus!
