A Rescuer Is Born
December 24, 2012For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
Christmas underscores the whole plan of redemption—it’s the day when the Rescuer was born in a manger over 2,000 years ago.
Jesus came not to cover sin but to take away the sin condition (Isaiah 43:25). He is the exact representation of the Father (Hebrews 1:1-3) and He came to earth in the fullness of time to die for the ungodly (Galatians 4:4-5) and to pronounce forgiveness over each one of our lives. Let these scriptures inspire your interest, admiration, and affection for Jesus:
God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. Hebrews 1:3a
Jesus is the most unique person there has ever been. He is the Messiah, the Anointed One. He is fully God and fully man. He’s the King of kings. Jesus is alive and available to all who call on His Name, and He is reaching out to every person all the time. If you don’t know Him, let Him rescue you from sin and certain death. Whatever your situation, He is ready and able to come to your aid. Get to know the Rescuer.
Merry Christmas!
Pastor Jeff
