Follow Through

June 26, 2015

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

1. Do the Right Thing. This verse in Micah breaks down three components of a thriving spiritual life. Every day we can pursue justice—and we have the amazing Holy Spirit to help us discern the right things to say and do.

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Colossians 4:5-6

2. Walk in Love. Be quick to forgive and quick to repent. If you’ve developed skill at itemizing and retaining hurts, trust God to bury it in the sea of forgetfulness and then move on from it. Have nothing to do with unforgiveness and everything to do with loving others.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5

3. Follow Through Obediently. Don’t give up before the breakthrough. We are called to live a life of follow-through. To get a fresh perspective, let your logic get cleansed by the Word of God. Every day is a new opportunity to reset your heart before the Lord and push past disappointments, forgive the frailties of others, and fight the good fight of faith.

Pray this Prayer
God, I thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help me to daily walk in love, to know and discern the way of justice, and to follow through in obedience to the very end of my life! I love You, Jesus!
