Lift Up Your Light

March 22, 2022

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

1. LIFT UP YOUR EYES. Sometimes we put our noses to the grindstone trying to figure out the intricacies of a problem, when what we really need to do is take a step back and look to Jesus. When your eyes are focused on Him instead of on the problem, you aren’t denying reality — you are looking to the One who has the answer.

2. LIFT UP YOUR NEEDS IN PRAYER. You can actually know and follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Take some time to pray and open yourself to what God wants to tell you. Pray constantly — pray in the Spirit, pray with your understanding, pray the Scriptures — pray about everything!

The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130 NKJV

3. LIFT UP YOUR WORD INTAKE. Spend a little more time in your Bible. The Word of God will equip you, guide you, and make you effective for all that God has called you to do. As we enter into a season when society is becoming aware of their need for Jesus, the Scriptures will help us to distinguish between fleshly reasoning and God’s wisdom and understanding. (Hebrews 4:12).

4. LIFT UP YOUR VOICE AND REJOICE. “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4a). If you are going through the proverbial darkness before the dawn, remember that you are fighting a spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:12). Keep on rejoicing! God is going to get you to the other side, and along the way He will open doors and increase opportunities for you.

Press On,

DAILY CONFESSION:
I look to the Lord and I am radiant, and my face will never be ashamed (Psalm 34:5). I lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles, and I run with endurance the race that is set before me, fixing my eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2a).
