The Race Before Us

October 21, 2014

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1

Cultivate Endurance. We each have a specific race to run, and God has called us to finish strong. What God initiates He sustains and brings to completion. Along the way Satan tries to stop us through discouragement and distraction. That’s why we need to get our vision renewed so that we can run in such a way to see great fruit produced.

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:35-36

Keep Your Confidence. You can rely on God. He is so strong and wise. Nothing is too difficult for Him. If you’re feeling weary, know that even if the righteous falls, the Lord lifts him up every time (Psalm 37:24). God wants to take your situation out of impossibility and into the miraculous.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3

Consider Jesus. Faith comes by hearing God’s Word and standing on His promises. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the Word made flesh. Cultivate your friendship with Him; spend time with Him. Pore through the pages of the Bible and see Jesus going from village to village, healing all who were sick and oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). Nothing is too difficult for Him!

Pray This Prayer
God, You are supernaturally wise and strong. I thank You for turning things around in my life. You can solve every problem, answer every question, heal every disease, cast out every demon, defeat every enemy, overcome each difficulty, bring down any stronghold, break every bondage, open each prison door, meet every need, move the largest mountain. Nothing is too difficult for You. I trust You with my life, in Jesus’ Name, amen.*

en•dur•ance, noun – The ability or strength to continue or last, esp. despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions.

God Bless You,
Pastor Jeff
