Prayer Brings Breakthrough

June 12, 2015

And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.” Mark 11:22-23

1. Foundation of Faith – God
Have faith in God. This simple yet powerful statement reminds us that God is looking for people who will pray in faith. You are able to pray the prayer of faith when you have spent time in God’s Word, seeking out His will about a particular subject (Romans 10:17).

2. Function of Faith – Believe, Speak & Pray
When you delve into the Word and become aware of God’s promises, it produces confidence in your approach to life. Mountains represent looming things that don’t seem like they can move, but go they must—overwhelming situations, a rebellious child, a broken heart, troubled marriages—you know that things will turn around because Jesus said they must.

Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. Mark 11:24-25

3. Qualification of Faith – Forgive
Show mercy, be quick to forgive, and be quick to ask for forgiveness. Take time to realize the value of prayer in your everyday life. Look to God and trust Him for clarity on the decisions you have to make on a daily basis. As we pray according to the Word of God, the breakthrough will come!

Pray This Prayer
God’s ear is inclined to my prayer (Psalm 116:2; Proverbs 15:29). I draw near with confidence to the throne of grace so that I may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). God, I need wisdom today and I have confidence that when I ask according to Your will, You hear me and I know I have the requests I ask of You (1 John 5:14-15).

Trust, noun
Reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.
One in which confidence is placed.

God bless you,
