Let God Be Your Security

May 5, 2016

The Lord’s faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him. Psalm 32:10b NET

1. BE HONEST. Church is an atmosphere where it’s okay to have a problem but not okay to stay stuck. God wants us to look Him in the eye and deal with things honestly. He has complete sufficiency to deal with sin, guilt, and shame—His mercy triumphs over judgment (1 John 1:9).

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. Psalm 32:3, 5

2. PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING. The Lord is a rock in the middle of the storm (Psalm 18:2). When you feel vulnerable, He is a high tower (Psalm 144:2 KJV) and a security for those who trust in Him (Psalm 91:1). We can run to Him and be saved (Proverbs 18:10). If you are grief-stricken over something, turn it into a prayer. Don’t worry about anything—instead pray about everything (Philippians 4:6 NLT).

Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found. Psalm 32:6a

3. SING PRAISES TO GOD. The devil will try to steal your song, but when you refuse to shut your mouth and instead sing praises to God, your voice is like a battering ram in the darkness. Remember all the times when God has preserved you from trouble and stir yourself up by way of reminder!

You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; you surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:7

God bless you!

DAILY CONFESSION:
I will be glad in the Lord and rejoice—I will shout for joy because of what God has done (Psalm 32:11). When I feel unsure, God will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; He will counsel me with His eye upon me (Psalm 32:8). God is my hiding place and will preserve me from trouble. He surrounds me with songs of deliverance.
