Plans That Stand.
Many plans are in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord will stand. Proverbs 19:21
God gave David plans for how His temple was to be built, down to the exact weight of the silver utensils which were to be used during the temple's eventual dedication (1 Chronicles 28:14). Such detail! This fact ought to help you when you realize you are part of the household of the
faith. If God cares about how much silver is in a spoon, then He can also be detailed about how much purpose, wisdom, gifting and blessing He has for each one of us in the Body of Christ.
He has chosen to dwell in the fellowship of believers. God no longer dwells in temples made by human hands (Acts 17:24). Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. He dwells in the believer. We are of God's household, the household of the faith (Galatians 6:10). This is why I LOVE
the Body of Christ. This helps me see beyond denominational barriers. It helps me to value His churchto appreciate and respect all the diversity of the things He's doing.
This also helps me as an individual. On the days when I feel crummy or when things don't seem to look really good, I'm reminded God has a plan and He works everything out after the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11). He has plans for all of us, each and every believer: traditional, contemporary, old, young, new, seasonedEVERYONE! And
His plans WILL come to pass.
". . . I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it." Matthew 16:18b
Thank You, Jesus.
