How Blessed We Are.
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 God is a God of blessing. Not only in heaven will we see His blessing; He has given us everything we need to also live our earthly life: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). Because He has, past tense, blessed us, we can walk out blessing and prosperity in this life. Ephesians 1 describes some of the blessings we have been given. Because of Jesus we are now accepted and don't have to fear rejection (vs. 6 KJV). We are redeemed and forgiven (vs. 7). We are blessed with the knowledge of God's will (vs. 9). What a blessing to know God! We were so empty without Him, but now we have been given "a spirit of wisdom and of revelation" as we walk out our Christian life (vs. 17).

God promises a prosperous life to the righteous man: "In whatever he does, he prospers" (Psalm 1:3b). But we mustn't lose perspective on prosperity in this narcissistic age. The blessing of God is not self-centered. God's prosperity affords us great richness of life, but it is also to be shared. Prosperity in perspective sees that God wants to bless us so that, as we live in His blessing, His grace will be evident and people will be drawn to know Him. The blessing shouldn't stop with us but translate into affecting the whole world.

None of us is operating in too much wisdom, too much healing, too much blessing—we are living below the standard. We need to understand the details of the provision that Jesus laid down His life to give. People who understand their covenant with God can change villages, stop plagues and halt genocide. Study over the next few months how God has blessed us and why He has blessed us. Meditate on Deuteronomy 28, Psalm 1, and Ephesians 1. As you do, you will realize that "happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord!" (Psalm 144:15b AMP).

God is so good to us,
Pastor Jeff

But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. James 1:25
The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. Deuteronomy 28:12
