God-Oriented Perspective.
Looking at them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God." Mark 10:27 When you think about the things God has called us to, it's pretty fantastic. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel" (Mark 16:15). Now, as much as (if not more than) ever, our world needs us to bring them Jesus. And it's possible, with God.

We see the global village, and it appears that darkness is pervading. We see that the world is seized by the power of the enemy. We see it getting kind of crazy. Rather than succumbing to an outlook of "The sky is falling!" we acknowledge that this is the way it is right now and maintain a God orientation in our perspective.

I've been told this, and I think it's true: "If it's not impossible (the thing you think God is calling you to do), then it's probably not God." I have noticed that the things God calls me to in my life are impossible for me to do without Him. We don't accomplish the things of the Lord by might or by human power or by some sort of enthusiasm or excitement—it's by the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Abraham and Sarah had Isaac when it wasn't physiologically possible. David defeated the giant on his own when armies couldn't do it. When we look at facts like these in the Scriptures, we see that the only thing that made these impossible things possible was God. These people are heroes in our faith because they had an outlook that was God-oriented. They saw amazing things happen because they had faith, and faith is what pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).

Abraham, Sarah, and David couldn't do the impossible. Neither can we, on our own. But with God ALL things are possible (Mark 10:27)—from the out-there things He has called us to, to the dailies of loving our enemies and forgiving those who hurt us. By keeping a God-oriented perspective, we will be effective and see billions saved with the incomparable message of the Gospel of Jesus.

Eyes on Him,
Pastor Jeff
