Called to Seek, Pray, and Do.
I beseech You, O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the
prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night... Nehemiah 1:5-6a
When Nehemiah got the call to rebuild the ruined walls of Jerusalem, he immediately invited God into the work. He prayed. He fasted. He was a simple servant who heard the call and saw the necessity of the undertaking,
but he also realized he HAD to have God in order to accomplish what he had been called to do. He did not underestimate the job and he did not undertake the task without praying first.
It's a necessity for God's people to pray. We start our services in prayer. We start our days in prayer, whether we feel like it or not. The call drives us past our feelings. We must persevere, pray, and believe God.
God has called us to raise up a standard. He has called us to live out this Christian life and carry the presence of God to our offices, to our households, to our relationships, and to carry it around the globe.
When it comes to our connection to God and our connection to each other as believers, we are called to action. Nothing substitutes for genuine caring activity.
Jesus is building His Church worldwide. Throughout the generations, His faithfulness has sustained great accomplishments and fruitfulness. It is a privilege to be a part of it.
Press in to God and press on!
