Established by God

September 1, 2014

And David realized that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that his kingdom was highly exalted, for the sake of His people Israel. 1 Chronicles 14:2

Called by God. David realized something that we all need to understand: God wants to do extraordinary things in our lives. We are designed by God to connect with Him, to connect other people with Him, and to be fruitful and live significantly.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Get Sharp. If you are in an indecisive, fuzzy moment—double up on the Word of God, which is the divider between soul and spirit. If you feel super dull, connect with God. Do everything you can to wait on the Lord and gain new strength. You may not feel any anointing on your life right now, but the Author and the Finisher of your faith knows how to get you back on your feet.

Breakthrough. We can become hardened to difficulties but stay tender toward God. When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king, it provoked an attack (1 Chronicles 14:8). It caused him to “inquire of the Lord,” and then David was given strategy and the enemy was defeated. The attack comes because of the anointing, but victory will also come as we seek God.

The Lord will rise up . . . that He may do His work, His awesome work, and bring to pass His act, His unusual act. Isaiah 28:21 NKJV

Pray This Prayer:
God, thank You that You have sent Your Holy Spirit to guide me into all the truth. Help me to identify and fulfill those key things You have designed me for. I pray I walk in a manner that is so effective that it brings a multitude out of the valley of decision into the conclusion to receive Jesus. If You can make a valley of dry bones come to life (Ezekiel 37), then You can bring our generation into the Kingdom of God by the hundreds of millions. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
