An Eye Toward the Future

November 3, 2014

“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11,13

Direct Your Vision. The prophet Jeremiah declared this message from God during a time of great challenge for the people of Israel. That same God wants to see you through today. Repeatedly the Bible tells us to lift up our eyes; to look to Jesus. Though we have never seen Him, we love Him. “He [Moses] endured, as seeing Him who is unseen” (Hebrews 11:27b).

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, while it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Hebrews 3:13-15a

Guard Your Heart. It’s so important to keep your heart tender and completely surrendered toward God. As you stay open to Him and keep your heart free of unconfessed sin or unforgiveness, He will bring you not just into a place of survival, but into a place where your heart can be connected with His and you can go forward, running your race with endurance to win.

Move Forward in Faith. Instead of being filled with fear of failure, you can step out in faith, trusting God. With God, you can see problems as just challenges to be overcome. Every day you can walk right into His presence and have fellowship with Him. If your heart has grown cold, God can make it fiery hot.

Pray This Prayer:
God, I love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I mix what I’ve read with faith and declare that all You have called me to be and do will come to pass. I will accomplish Your plan in my lifetime. I will see my generation come to know Jesus the Redeemer. I repent for any sins and keep my heart open to You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
