How do I receive Jesus?
1 – God’s Plan: Peace and Life
God loves you and wants to have victory and peace now and forever.
The Bible says:
“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27
2 – Man’s Problem: Sin and Separation
We’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious plan. Sin separates
you from God and leads to death and eternity in hell.
The Bible says:
“…There is none righteous, not even one.” Romans 3:10
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
3 – God’s Answer: Jesus Christ
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to save you from the penalty for your
sins. Jesus died in your place and rose from the dead to give you
eternal life.
The Bible says:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
“For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18.
4 – Your Response: Repent and Receive
Admit that you’ve sinned. Repent and accept Jesus’ sacrifice on your behalf. Ask Him into your life. Choose to obey God from now on. He will forgive you and be with you always.
“…If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
“Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him; for ‘whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.’” Romans 10:11-13
To receive Jesus Christ’s free gift of salvation, pray this simple prayer with all your heart:
“Dear God, in my heart I know the
truth about Jesus. I know He is Your Son and that He died for me and rose
from the dead. Forgive me for all my sins. I receive Jesus into my life
right now. Help me to follow You always. Amen.”
